Lecturer: Nina Satya Paulsen
| Course-no. 26-601
Date: 09.03.2026 (registration until 30.01.2026)
Employees at crematoria are often confronted with intense and emotionally stressful scenarios, whether in caring for the deceased, dealing with relatives, or in the social evaluation of their workplace.
In acute stress situations, the stress-processing system in the brain becomes overwhelmed. The regular psychological defense mechanisms no longer function. This excessive stress response hinders the appropriate processing of the experience.
Supervision is a technique that can be used to provide acute help immediately after stressful impressions or situations and provides long-term support in coping with stress and trauma.
Lecturer Nina Satya Paulsen is a senior psychologist at a psychiatric clinic and a certified trauma therapist. Ms. Paulsen teaches the basics and methods of supervision, drawing on her many years of experience as a specialist leader of crisis intervention teams.
Course participants learn practical skills that help them maintain or regain their psychological well-being during and after stressful situations. In addition, participants learn how to deal with difficult situations in a healthy way.
Skills taught:
- Basic knowledge of psychological stress and trauma
- Competence in dealing with stressful situations
- Strengthening one’s own resilience

Since 2025, it has also been mandatory in Bavaria to conduct a second post-mortem examination by a public health officer prior to cremation. However, even though the requirement for a second post-mortem examination now applies throughout Germany, there are state-specific peculiarities.
Business economist, cremation technician, and master undertaker Thies Heinrich explains these in the theoretical part of this course. Hygiene aspects and the correct handling of infectious deceased persons are also discussed, including special cases (e.g., severely decomposed corpses).
The course content is based on the funeral laws of the federal states, professional association guidelines, and the guidelines of the German Society for Legal Medicine. The course provides basic knowledge and practical skills to enable participants to act responsibly and safely as fire safety and evacuation assistants in an emergency. Participants learn to recognize fires at an early stage, assess hazards correctly, and implement evacuation measures effectively. The course is divided into two parts.
In the first part of the course, participants complete training as fire safety assistants. The training consists of theoretical input on the basics of fire safety. Among other things, the legal basis (ASR A2.2, DGUV Regulation 1, ArbSchG, BetrSichV), as well as causes of fire and fire prevention are discussed. Furthermore, fire classes and extinguishing agents are discussed. The practical part focuses on the correct behavior in the event of a fire. In addition, the use and handling of fire extinguishers is actively practiced in a practical unit.
In the second part of the course, participants are trained as evacuation assistants. This part of the training also combines theoretical knowledge transfer with practical exercises. The content covers the organization of evacuation in the workplace, how to behave in relation to specific groups of people (e.g., people with limited mobility), and communication and coordination in an emergency. A simulated evacuation drill reinforces the behaviors learned.
Skills taught:
- Avoiding danger through education
- Confidence in knowing what to do in case of fire

We are also happy to include questions or experiences from the participants’ everyday professional lives in the content. Working together on real cases enables a high degree of practical relevance. The course focuses on actively examining the case studies. The aim of the course is to learn how to deal with cremation in a legally compliant manner and to train participants in a systematic approach to complex legal issues.

Course fee: 400 €
Venue:
Feuerbestattungen Diemelstadt GmbH
Holpergrund 21, 34474 Diemelstadt
Lecturer: Denny Grieger
| Course no. 26-103
Date: 21.-22.09.2026 (registration until 14.08.2026)
During maintenance, the condition of the cremation system is systematically checked and, if necessary work is carried out on the system to restore the target condition. Maintenance work should delay the progression of wear and tear or, in the best case, prevent it altogether. With the regular performance of maintenance work the service life of a system can be extended, downtimes can be minimized and the reliability of the cremation system can be ensured.
The lecturer Denny Grieger presents the necessary tasks in routine maintenance. Detailed maintenance plans provide information on the content and intervals of maintenance tasks. The use of maintenance plans enables a systematic, structured and cross-shift approach. The results of the checks and all measures taken are recorded in maintenance logs.
The practical part of the course includes a visit to the crematorium in Diemelstadt. On site, an example of maintenance of the cremation system is carried out and the results recorded.
Your expertise in system maintenance not only ensures the smooth functioning of the system, but also contributes to an improved understanding of the system, its components and functionality and ensures safety-oriented and sustainable handling of the cremation system.
Skills taught:
- Maintenance and service work on cremation systems

Over time, crematoria have evolved from purely technical cremation facilities to service-oriented funeral centers. Venue:
Bretschneider GbR
Werdauer Str. 200b, 08060 Zwickau
Lecturer: Michael Bretschneider
| Course-no. 26-802
Date: 02.11.2026 (registration until 25.09.2026)
No more trips to the garage for minor issues – instead, gain the confidence that comes from knowing your own abilities and your vehicle. In this course, Michael Bretschneider teaches the basic skills and knowledge you need to take care of the routine maintenance of your vehicle yourself.
If you think vehicle care means driving through the car wash, you have a lot to learn, and this is the right place for you. Perfect vehicle care includes not only washing the bodywork, but also caring for the interior (correct cleaning of the various materials and surface textures: upholstery, leather, plastic, glass, carpet, etc.), as well as paint protection (waxing, sealing, repairing scratches). When caring for funeral vehicles, hygiene regulations also come into play.
In the second part of the course, participants focus on vehicle maintenance. The most important maintenance checks include checking tire safety, checking fluid levels, and testing the functionality of lighting and electronics. In addition, the background of relevant warning lights and the resulting recommendations for action are discussed.
The instructor, Michael Bretschneider, is a motor vehicle mechanic and specialist in the conversion and modification of funeral vehicles. As part of this course, he also imparts technical expertise in the maintenance and care of coffin lifting systems.

for small vans
Type: Driver training
Number of participants: 10-12
Course fee: 250 €
Venue:
Fahrsicherheitszentrum
Am Sachsenring 2, 09353 Oberlungwitz
Lecturer: ADAC Sachsen

Unlike passenger cars, small vans have specific design features that can have a highly problematic effect on handling and driving safety, especially in emergency situations.
The lack of all-round visibility, poor visibility, and blind spots, as well as the long braking distance, susceptibility to crosswinds, and high center of gravity pose particular challenges for drivers. The trainers address these issues specifically in the intensive small van training course.
One focus of the training is the joint development of loading and load securing topics, as these have a major impact on driving and braking behavior.
Other key areas include the optimal seating position, correct steering, safe turning/maneuvering, braking and sudden evasive maneuvers to avoid obstacles, as well as cornering in emergency situations.
The special highlight of this course is that it takes place at the Sachsenring.
A valid driver’s license and the use of your own (company) van are prerequisites for participation.
Note: Some professional associations contribute to the costs of driver safety training courses.
Skills taught:
- Knowledge of the special structural features of small vans and their effects
- Load securing and eco-friendly driving
- Training in driving behavior, especially in emergency situations
- Protection and safety for drivers and other parties involved
